This session was really special to me.  The L family wanted to get some family portraits but what they really wanted were some good shots of them with their adorable dog, Rosie.  Rosie is a 15 year old pug and she is getting old.  She can’t hear or see very well but she is more than well loved, I can tell you that!  The family really wanted to get some good pictures before their adorable Rosie is no longer with us all.  I absolutely thought this was an amazing idea.  Pets are such a huge part of our families and losing them is so incredibly difficult.  I know that if I could go back, I would, in a second, get some professional pictures taken with my old dog, Max.  Max was a very large dog (German Shepherd and Bermese Mountain dog mix) and he was the biggest sweetest love of all time…he lived to be 13.  A very long time for a dog that size.  I have a few special pictures of him, that till this day, I still hold very close to my heart.  In fact, one is in my car with me at all times.  So I 100% understood how the L family felt and I wanted to make sure I captured the most perfect images of them and their precious, Rosie.  I want them to be able to look back at these pictures and remember her for the amazing dog that she is.  The amazing companion that she has become over the years and to remember all of the love that they have for her at this very moment.  I really just can’t even explain how much I wanted to make sure I did that for them and I think we did.

Now, what better place to capture a dog than at a park.  Rosie was loving watching all the dogs run and walk by…checking out the bicycle riders and anything else that would cross her vision.  She was very excited to see everything going on.  It was funny because it did make it a little difficult to get her to look at the camera; since she doesn’t see well or hear very well and there were many distractions, it was difficult to get her attention but we would just time it right!  The bike riders would ride right behind me and you would see Rosie’s eyes follow the riders and as the riders got behind me, she would be looking right at me and I could snap!   It was all in the timing! ha!  She did amazing and staying/laying in one spot which the family said she does best at since she gets tired…she was in her element.  Lounging and watching all the amazing things going on around her; like doggie retirement.  She was one happy girl.

I also had an amazing time just watching the family with Rosie.  You could see how much they all really love her and that was really touching to see.  And I adored watching the brother and sister relationship between Hope and Jay.  Hope is going to be an 8th grader and Jay, her little brother is going to be a 6th grader this next school year.  I could hardly believe it.  They are both amazingly good looking kids and incredibly sweet and carry themselves with such dignity.  They really seemed much older than they are!  Hope is incredibly stunning…just beautiful and just a total natural in front of the camera.  As was Jay.  He was totally himself, not shy at all…he even danced for me a bit!  I really had a great time with the L family and I am so excited to share these images with you all!
